TlTt "Daily Express" states that the proposal to remove the bodies of General Oglethorpe and his wife has been abandoned in deference to protests against the remains.
A proposal was recently made that the body of General Oglethorpe, who was the founder of the State of Georgia, and that of his wife, Lady Elizabeth Oglethorpe, should be removed from the Cranham Church, Essex, and sent to America for reinterment. General Oglethorpe died in 1783 and his wife four years later.
