8d A GALLON IN U.S.A. [By Electric Cable—Copyright] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Thursday, 7.46- P.m.) NEW YORK, Oct" 18. Six companies, including the Standard Oil Company, have announced a two cent, decrease in the price of petrol, to be effective in 27 States, thus bringing the retail price to between 15J and IS cents per gallon throughout the nation. The reduction is regarded as a further development in the price warfare, although the companies doclare it is due to over-production.
