The JjSchool Committee of the Lyttft Street School met on Tuesday nW Mr Jas. Penney presiding. The efforts of the committee in o dertaking to raise the sum of £Bo,fl share in the purchase of the scctioi 'has resulted in £7l 17/6 being suV scribed. This included £lO 17/8, t> nett result of the Lyceum pictos picture benefit. It was decided to sen! a letter of thanks to those who sutscribed.
The Wanganui Education Board a! vised that Miss Kemp would arrive! Sydney to-morrow, .and would co® on to New Zealand by first oppoi lunity.
The headmaster reported that ll present roll number was 367, a recori and the average attendance for 18 quarter was 321.5 which .entitled t.heS to an additional assistant. Miss Pri« who had taken Miss Milne’s placed the staff, had done excellent wort Miss D. Mills had applied for i month’s leave of absence owing to® 1 health.
The matter of repairs to the W fence was referred to the Educati Board, with a request that it be 1 in order.
