HALCOMBE BACHELORS' BALL.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The bachelors' ball, which was held at Halcomoe on Wednesday evening was a huge success, visitors being present from Feilding. Rata, Bulls, and many other places. Everything went with a swing and dancing was kept up till the early hours of the morning. Decorations and dresses blended beautifully and the aspect was most striking. The music was excellent.. Over SO couples were present and two sittings were required for supper, which was also one of the features of the evening. Messrs Flemijiing and R. Dudding acted as M.'sC. Among the many beautiful dresser, worn were the following:—Mrs Petlers, blue and gold shot silk taffeta; Miss Key( Wanganui), peacock blue mousscllne; Mrs James, pale green crepo de chene; Miss Nickolson (Stanway), emerald green crepe de chenci •Miss Kllerv (Bulls), pale blue silk; Miss Potts (Bulls) < blue voile; Miss E. Potts (Bulls) ( 'blue voile; Miss Carlcy (Tnihape), crushed strawberry taffeta; Miss Rider, black silk; Miss Mounsoy (Stratford) green georgette over net: Miss F. Anderson, .jade, green satin tangerine; Miss Blown (Dannevirke), salmon pink crepe de ohene; Miss Rasmussen (Feilding), black velvet; Miss Prior, knigfishor blue, satin and gold; 'Miss R. Zweibrook, jade green georgette; Miss t. Zweibrook, brown gecrgctte; Miss P. Blows, lemon crepo de chene; Mrs R. Williams, pale blue net over silk; Miss McDougall, black velvet; Mrs N # Anderson, navy blue crepe de chene, 'Miss G. Wiliams, white voile; Mrs Blackbume, brown crepe de chen-i and lemon: Mrs Saywcll, black silK; Miss Cowdry, kingfisher blue silk; Miss Rosser (StUmvay), pale blue fairy silk; Miss M. Rosser (Stanway), white silk; Miss Green (Stairway,, lemon silk; Miss K. Green (Stanway), blue silk; Miss M, Anderson, salmon pink satin beauta and silver leaves. Mesdanms Bryant, Anderson, Cowdry, Rosser and Ellery were the chaperons.
