TOKORANGI.

(From Our Own Correspondent). A meeting of the Tokorangi School Committee was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrß F. Overton (chairman), Rosser, Kreigher, and Iwakau. Owing to family bereavement Mr J. P, Morrison was not present. The chairman reported" that, as in? structed, ho had go,t what was required for the shelter shed. The roofing and painting wero left in the hands of a committee. An estimate of £5 was accepted for the erection of the shed. All accounts presented wore passed far payment. The chairman stated that ho was passing through his 26th year of chairmanship of only two schools, being 22 consecutive years in Canterbury and 31 years at Tokarangi. As he is leaving the district, he would have to his resignation. All members present expressed their regret at losing their chairman, as he was a man who always took a keen interest in tho welfare of the school. They hoped that this would not be the last school for which he would take the lead, as ho was of great value ta any school committee he might be on. Mr Overton, in reply, thanked the members for their kind words, adding: "As you know, I always did my best in any way which I looked on as my duty to do," Mr Iwikau was unanimously elected to the chair, he having been a member of tho committee for some time. Mr J. L. Fergusson was elected t'o the committee to fill tho vacancy.
