PURCHASE OP ELECTRICAL PLANTS. PRELIMINARY OPINION DESIRABLE. The Feilding Borough Council notified the Manawatu-Oroua Plydro Electric PoTfer Board yesterday that the question of selling- its electrical scheme was being 1 considered by the Council. A communication was received from the Rongol2a Co-operative Dairy Co., slating that the company was prepared to sell its electrical .scheme to the Board. The latter was referred to the'engineer for his opinion. Mr Tingey said that as Mr Waters was already to give an opinion on the suggested purcha.se of other plants, it would be advisable to ha\la a preliminary opinion as to the advantages or disadvantages likely to accrue to the board in the event of any purchase. He moved in that direction. Mr F. W. Arbon seconded, contending that it would be a very desirable step to know exactly what advantages might accrue to the Board by the purchase. Mr H. H. Hunt said that the Rongotea Dairy Company was willing to dispose of thpi plant, mainly because it could not extend the supply to meet the growing requirements of consumers. The company was holding a license only until it disposed of tile plant. Sir James Wilson and Mr S. R. Lancaster supported. Mr Morrison: "I should like to hear whatever Mr Waters thinks given verbally otherwise it will only He cartod round." He believed they should get all the information possible, but the contractors might place their heads together, if the opinion was made common property. Mr Nash did not think it constituted "sound business." They had as yet only asked two or three owners of plants if they were prepaid to sell and first of all they only wanted "no"| or "yes." The motion was carried.
