Donaldson, of Christchureh. has been appointed assistant engineer to the Manawatu-Oroua Hydro-elcc-tri-c Power Board, the engineer's recommendation in this direction being adopted yesterday. Mr. Donaldson has had some 1C years' experience of electrical work and comes to the new position with excellent credentials. Following a notification from the Power Boards' Association yesterday, that a -conference of power boards would be held Wellington on July 24, the Manawatu-Oroua Hydro-elec-tric Power Board, at its meeting yesterday, appoint<-d Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., to act as delegate It was also decided to ask Messrs J 11. and J. S. Tingey to attend the conference. At St. Bridget's Church, Feilding, last week, the wedding took placo of Miss Kathleen Haydon, second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J. Haydon ( 01 Christchureh, to Mr Francis Twiss, fourth son of Mr and Mrs M. Twiss, of Southbridgc. The Rev. Father Cahill officiated, and the brides aunt, Mrs D. Dalton, was at the organ. Mr D. Dalton the bride's uncle, gave her away. and Miss Hilda Haydon was bridesmaid, Mr M. Lawless attending the bridegroom.
