The butter must first be graded by an officer of Customs in accordance with the following conditions;— (a) Maximum points to he awarded are: Flavour and aroma, 50 points; texture, 30 points; condition, 20 points. (b) The butter is to be graded as follows; Choicest, pure creamery butter graded at 92 ,to 100 points: first grade, the same, 90 to 91 points; second grade, pure butter, 86 to 89 points; third grade, pure butter, 82 to 8 9 points; pastry butter, nonrancid butter, graded below 82 points; and 2. 'There must not be applied any grade mark or indication of quality other than that affixed by the Customs officer, but this not to apply to any mark applied by the manufacturer at the time of manufacture. SALE REPORTS. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Palmerston North, report holding a most successful clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr W. G. Shannon, Rangitikci Line.
