Rats and seagulls as food were In. , eluded in the ghastly adventures re. ■ kited when the crew of the missing i Grimsby trawler Sorgon, arrived, at • Aberdeen to.day. The crew’s first adi venture was a chase by a Bolshevik gun.boat, and when escaping - the ves- ! s-:;l, ran into a storm. She was much battered and the engines broke down then she drifted into the ice and was helpless for weeks. The men lived on fish and when that was exhausted, they made a cake of linseed meal and : olive oil, found in the medicine chest. When this was ail consumed they ate raw gull flesh, and afterwards, when starving and ferocious rats emerged from their holes, seeking food, the men caught, killed, roasted and ate them. An outbreak of dysentery followed. The men had given up hope when they were rescued by a German traw. ler and towed to Iceland. The men’s families waited all day long at Grimsby to.day for the arrival of the Sorgon. but were disappointed when news of the vessel’s detention at Aberdeen was received.
