MEAT CONTROL BOARD.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Meat Export Control Board met to-day at Parliament Buildings. There was a full attendance of members, namely, Messrs A. E. Harding and D. Jones, M.P. (Government representatives), T. A. Duncan, John Grigs", Win. Perry, Adam Hamilton, M.P., and J. S. Jcssep (meat producers’ representatives). Mr David Jones was appointed chairman, and Mr Jessep vice-chair-man. The chairman afterwards informed a reporter that the Board had ■ discussed the nature of Us future operations, but nothing further was done that could be reported. “Nothing,” he added, “was said about the appointment of a London agent for the Board. We have not reached that stage yet.” It is understood that the Government has not yet arrived at a decision with regard to the appointment of Mr \V, Ij. Hunt, managing director of Wright, Stephenson and Co., and formerly a member of the National Efficiency Board, who was nominated by the stock and station agents as their representative on the Board.
