THE RIVER BOARD

DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. [By Telegraph—Special to “Times.”] WELLINGTON, Last Night. A deputation consisting of Mr R. T. Bell (chairman), Mr A. H. Grant (clerk), of the proposed ManawatuOroua River Board, was introduced by Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., to the Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. Downie Stewart), and Mr A. Newton, Assistant Under-Secretary, when the petition was presented, which has been signed by a majority of the landowners. The Minister promised to have all the matters dealing with the proposed Board investigated immediately, and to notify his decision to the deputation.
