"Help the Mothers" Campaign.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE.

TITO FLAGS. The positions of the flags' were unaltered yesterday, and the Western Engineers maintain the premier position.

A meeting of the St. Helen's Home Executive was held on Monday afternoon, the Mayor (Mr J. A. Nash, M.P.) presiding. It was decided to continue the Reveille on Thursday and Friday of next week, and hold the coronation ceremony on the latter date. Performances will also be staged at Fellding and Foxton, on the Monday and Wednesday, if the performers' consent and the halls can be secured. The task of arranging for the Queens 1 ' dresses was left in the hands of Mesdames Abraham and Gill. Mrs Abraham made an appeal to have the dresses made voluntarily providing the committee paid for the material. The Mayor, Messrs J. H. Stevens, J. Aitcheson and H. F. Gibson were appointed a committee to organise a final canvass for donations in all districts. The art union will be definitely closed on Saturday, as previously notified. After considering the Hockey Association's request that the' visiting players to the tournament be entertained at the Reveille, it was decided that the request could not be granted. CONCERT AT RONGOTEA. A concert is to be held at the Coronation Hall, Rongotea, to-night, wnen the Glee Club, assisted- by the best local talent, will stage a special programme to raise money for the campaign. BIG MOTOR GYMKHANA. A monster decorated motor vehicle procession and gymkhana will be held in the Square and on the Showgrounds on Saturday. It will be the biggest thing of the kind yet attempted in this town. There are twelve events (including a leaping car hairraiser), and post entry for all events will be received on the gromid. The Municipal Band will be in attendance. THE REVEILLE. The Reveille at the Opera House grows rather than diminishes in popularity. There was a very large audience again last night, an<* the utmost enthusiasm was shown, encores, flowers and chocolates being showered upon the performers. Again the scarecrow dance was the piece de resistance, these whimsical performers being recalled again and again. Several new numbers were on the programme. Miss Beeban McDonald had a most picturesque setting for her song "Oh What a Difference the Navy's Made of Me." The shell ballet, unique and beautiful, with Miss C. Tabor as "Pearl" and Miss Diana Tabor as "Lobster," with a host of crustecean satellites, fairly brought down the house. Miss N. Whalley's new item "Honour Amongst Thieves" proved very acceptable, and Miss Beban McDonald made a great score with her song "Oh Mother I am Wild." The snow ballet, with Miss Vivienne Healey as the premiere danseuse, was a particularly captivating item. The Spanish ballet was also a great success, Miss McDonald and Mr Lints also made a great hit with their song and dance "Do You Like Me?" The orchestra is now right up to pitch, and contributes largely to the success of the production. The Reveille is to be continued throughout the week, and it is hoped to arrange for a matinee on Saturday. If the performers are agreeable the performance will be staged at Feilding and Foxton on Monday and Wednesday respectively, and will conclude at the Opera House on Thursday and Friday of next week with the coronation ceremony on the latter night.
