FIRE IN DUNEDIN.
DRAPERY STORE GUTTED.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Last Night.
A disastrous fire broke out in Cuming's drapery stores, situated in George Street, about 6 o'clock tonight. It is surmised that the fire started at the back of the shop. .The interior of the two storey premises was completely gutted, and very little of the stock escaped damage by fire, the remainder)being badly damaged by water. ~ The stock, which was valued at £IB,OOO, was insured in the New Zealand office for £12,000, and the premises, which were owned by the Fulton Estate, are insured in the London, Liverpool and Globe Office for £4500.
