In the Southdown sheep classes a protest was entered against the first awards in some classes being allotted to Mr R. J. McDonald, on the ground that he had not owned the sheep for three months. A special meeting of the committee was hold to consider the matter. As a result a re-adjust-ment was made, the second awards iDeing placed first, and the" other awards in order automatically went up. The committee exonerated Mr McDonald from any blame, it being explained that during his illness the entries had, by an oversight, been inadvertently put in by an employee. In three of the dog classes (collies, smooth-coated) J. McL. Harvey, which had been placed first, was subsequently disqualified as not being in the right class; and consequently the original second and third awards were automatically moved up to first and second.
