CRICKET.
The second match of the Australian tour will be played at the Sports Ground, Palmerston North, on Tuesday and Wednesday next, commencing the first day at 11 a.m.; the Australian team commqnce their first game at Wellington to-day. The personnel of the team has been chosen from every Commonwealth States and include international players, such as Iremonger, Ransford, Lampard, Waddy, Pellew and other names well known to cricket enthusiasts. The team to play against them will be picked on Saturday, after a trial match between the, best 22 players in Manawatu. _ A marquee is to erected on the grounds, and Mrs Leakey, in whose capable hands the catering has been entrusted, will, after the players have been attended to. serve as many of the public as possible with afternoon tea. ;
