DANNEVIRKE SHOW.

A SPLENDID EXHIBITION. (Special to the “Times.”) The Dannevirke A. and P. Association’s twelfth annual Show opened yesterday, under circumstances that promise well for an all-round record. The weather was excellent and the at. tendance exceedingly large for an opening day. The entries are a record, totalling 1650, as compared with 1409 in 1920. The increases are most conspicuous in the cattle sections, dairy produce, competitions, dogs and home industries. The quality of the stock is much above that of previous years. The display of Jerseys and Milking Shorthorns was particularly fine, while other breeds were well represented, both in numbers and quality. The new covered-in cattle pens, which were recently completed at a cost of over £3OOO, were much admired. These and the sheep pens are modelled in similar lines to Palmerston North’s. A number of loose boxes have also been provided to accommodate the stallions. The officers of the Association must be congratulated on the success attending their efforts,, and this is greatly due to the splendid work of the secretary (Air H. S. M. Quigley).
