DIXON CUP MATCH. 1 A Dannevirke Club rink, comprising Thorburn, Hendry, McGibbon and Calder (skip), visited the Palmerston North green on Saturday to try to wrest the Dixon Cup from the holders, H. Seifert, H. Welch, J. A. Nash and N. H. Nash (skip). The challengers met with sturdy resistance from the Palmerston North team, and from the start they never looked like winders. They only scored in five heads, and lost to the holders by 14 to 25. The skip of the Palmerston team was' in great form, and in skilful drawing outclassed the opposing skip. The other members of the Palmerston Club rink also played well. This will be followed by challenges from Pahiatua, Feilding, Manawatu, Eketahuna and Terrace End Clubs. Terrace End have also challenged Palmerston North to play for the Manson and Barr cup.
