Y.W.C.A.

The board of directors of the Y.W.C.A. met yesterday, Mrs L. A. Abraham presiding'. During the month seven boarders had left and five had been admitted, the total number in residence now being 43. Suitable accommodation is being prepared for the inliux of visitors to the Show. Miss Gebbie, house secretary, tendered her resignation owing to ill-health. General regret was expressed by the board, as Miss Gebbie had proved a very capable manageress, and a grey suede handbag was presented to her b> the president, voiced the good wishes of the board. Miss Beattie, of Christchurch, has consented to act as matron until a permanent successor is appointed.
