GOLF.
The match between Wanganui and Palmerston, played on the Hokowhitu links yesterday, resulted in a win for the local team by two games. Heavy rain overnight had left the ground very wet, but the bright sunshine of the morning improved conditions, and the match was played in perfect weather. The following are the results, Palmerston names being mentioned first: —Mrs R. Abraham beat bliss Cave; Miss Moore lost to Miss Burr; Mrs Preeth beat Mrs Grace; Mrs limes lost to Miss Barley; Mrs Tingey lost to Mrs Izard; Miss Watson lost to bliss .Anderson; Mrs Collinson beat Mrs Cave; Miss Blackmore and Mrs Armstrong halved; Mrs L. Abraham beat Miss Harper; Miss D. Collinson beat Miss Collier; Mrs P. Sim lost to bliss Hatrick; Miss B. Abraham beat Miss Addenbrook; Miss Loughnan beat Mrs Broderick. A return match will be played in Wanganui on July 8.
