GERMAN ELECTIONS.

In the Gorman elections 16,202,000 vol;:-! have so far been recorded, which are distributed as follows: Independent Socialists 3,647,000, Social Democrats 3,b22,0C0, People's Party 2 656.000, National Party 2,17.2,000, Cent-e Party t,803,000, Democrats 1 62C.000. Commii.iista 328,000. Out o'f 1 ~>o members elected 48 are Independents. 44 Social Democrats, 29 Nationalists, 20 Centralists, 14 Democrats —including Eichorn, Ledebour, Bauer, Scheidemann. Helfferich and Erzeberger. Women voted in the same proportion as men. The last election was held in January, 1919, and resulted on the basis of proportional representation in the return of the following parties: Majority Socialist* 163, Centre (Catholic) Party 88, Democrats 75, Conservatives 42, Independent Socialists 22, German People's Party 21, Bavarian Peasants' League 4, and minor parties 6; total, 421. The actual votes cast for the larger parties were: Majority Socialists 11.112,450 (39.3 per cent, of the total). Democrats 5,552,930 (19.5 per cent). Centre 5,338,804 (18.S per cent.), Conservatives 2.729,18G (9.6 pe*- cent.). Independent Socialists 2 186.30 5 (7.6 per cent.), and German People's Party 1,106,408 (3.S per cert.).
