WOMAN KILLED.

MOTOR AND TRAIN COLLIDE. _ (Per Press Association). GREYMOUTH, Last Night. A terrible accident happened about 6.40 this evening. A motor-car driven by Mr Watson, mine manager for the Blackball Coal Co., was proceeding from Blackball to Greymouth. The occupants of the car were Mr Watson and his wife, and Mr J. Sinclair and his wife. The party were on their way to attend Mr Allan Wilkie’s performance at Greymouth. When proceeding over the crossing near Ngahere, an incoming train from Reefton, which was not noticed by Mr Watson, struck the rear portion of the car, causing a great smash. The ladies were in the back seat. Mrs Watson was literally cut to pieces, death being instantaneous. Mrs Sinclair was badly injured, having a hip broken. Neither of the men were injured.
