MAYOR'S XMAS APPEAL
In order to supplement the amount sweets will tic sold and a Xmas caKe and plum pudding auctioned at the dance recital and concert which is to bo hold in the Opera. House on Thursday, 11th, to provide Christmas comforts for the aged, ihe sick and the poor. Each year the Mayor endeavours to brighten the lives of’the distressed, and particularly the children, by the distribution of Christmas gifts, and so worthy a cause deserves a generous response. In addition, the dance recital will bo a unique opportunity of seeing the pupils of Miss Campbell, who is recognised a.s the best teacher of classic dancing in Wellington. Miss Campbell is bringing up her most talented pupils, and a delightful programme of dancing is assured. The concert will be contributed by local artists. Prices at 2/ and 1/, with 3/ for booked seats. Box plan at Swallows’s. donations of sweets to be left at Opera House between 2 and 4 p.m.
