The following are statistics showing the position of various factories: — Hopelands Factory.—Milk received 2,78(5,487 lbs, butter-fat received 111,5(57 lbs. cheese made 283,490 lbs (126% tons), milk to Ilb cheese 9.83 lbs, cheese to 1 lb butter-fat 2.54 lbs, average test 4.03, cost manufacture .92d per lb. Papatawa Factory.—Lbs milk received for cheese making 2,775,405, lbs milk separated 20,216, lbs butter-fat used for cheese 109,453, lbs butter-fat used for butter 1022, lbs cheese made 282,826 (126% tons), lbs of milk to 1 lb of cheese 9.90, lbs of cheese to 1 lb of fat 2.58, average test 3.94. Scarborough Factory.—Milk received for cheese making 4.797,298 lbs, milk separated 20 295 lbs, butter-fat used for cheese 195,465 lbs, butter-fat separated 811 lbs, cheese made 501,092 lbs (223% tons), milk to 1 lb cheese 9.57 lbs, cheese to 1 lb butter-fat 2.56 lbs, average test 4.074, cost,of manufacture 1.16 d per lb. Rex chile Factory. —Milk used for cheese making 7,82(5,341 lbs, milk separated and cream sold 87,3891b5, milk used for butter making 7860 lbs, butter-fat used for choose making 308,813 lbs, butter-fat sold 2910 lbs, butter-fat used for butter making 314 lbs. cheese made 803,732 'lbs (358% tons), butter made 17,978 lbs (8 tons), milk to 1 lb cheese 9.73 lbs, cheese produced to 1 lb butterfat 2.60 lbs, cost of manufacture .99d per lb, average test 3.94. Man gat ai nok a Factory .—Man gatain - oka has had several substantial improvements effected to the interior and exterior of factory, and now plant put in. The store yielded a profit of over £124. An acre of land adjoining the factory has been bought for future extensions. Messrs J. B. Rose (chairman), AV. Brown and J. Moynahan have been re-elected directors. The cheese sales last voar amounted to £23,5 <4 16/11, in addition to the sale of whey, representing £686 2/6. RUA ROA. Mr Mills, who for vears past has been manager of the Ena Roa cheese factory, has resigned in order to go on the land. He has purchased a property at Rua. Roa. MAHARAHARA NEWS. Trooper Pollard, a good soldier, is to be tendered a welcome home at Heretfmn o, a Schoolhouse on Wednesday night' As he is very popular and has a fine record of active service, the schoolroom is expected to be crowded. PAHLATUA PARS. \ Pongaroa tradesman, a young man, was fined in all £25 and costs 7/ for breaches of the Licensing Act. Pongaroa is in the dry area of Masterton, and the young man foolishly associated himself' with sonic whisky ordered trom Dannevirke. , , ~ Xl , For missing drill, J. W. Male>, Olliver. and P. H. Fined 1 * At the Makuri bridge a four horses (belonging to the W.f.L.A.) and driver went into the river. They had a fairly good fall, but managed to escape serious injury.
