MOSQUITO FLEET.

THE WELLINGTON TROUBLE

[By Telegraph.—“ Times’ ’ Special.] WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Premier explained to the House to-day the present position in regard to the trouble which, holds up the fleet of small coastal steamers in Wellington. He was sorry To say that the negotiations to bring about a settlement had failed; several conferences at which he presided and other Ministers also were present had discussed the difficulty. They got so far as to agree to submit the question in dispute to a tribunal. The shipowners contended for a judge of the Supreme Court with two assessors. The representatives of the men’s union objected to a judge but expressed their willingness to have the Conciliation Commissioners. Neither party would agree and there the matter stood.
