German Communique.

(Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Sunday. 5.5 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, Oct. 28.

A communique states: Infantry battles north of the Sommc recommenced yesterday. The British attacked from a line extending from Gueudecourt to Los Bonfs and the French from Mowal. The attacks were sanguinarily repulsed. There is heavy fighting at Verdun. The French attacked from Thiaumont forest and fort also from Fumin forest. They were repulsed with heavy losses. The Austro - Hungarians captured several height* oh both sides of Dornawatra. We captured a Rumanian position south of Brasso. The pursuit, in the l)obmdna_ continues. The enemy is not resisting.
