SATURDAY'S PLAY. The final match of t"nc season was .playe! at Hdkowhitu on Saturday. jfThe mateh took the form of mixed foursomes. Soon after play started rain fell steadily and continued throughout. Drenched couples arrived at the home hole at intervals, wet but happy. The event proved a, triumph for the handicapping on both sides of the club, there "oemg no less that four ties for first place- and two for second. The winners decided to ask the President, Mr E. G. Sim, who 3iad donated the prizes, to add their value to the sum subscribed in entrance fees for the Ladies' Red Cross Fund. £1 8s was forwarded to Mrs .Mellsop as a result. RESULTS.

The trophies for the season were .presented by the President's wife, Mrs E. G. Sim. Before the presentation place the ( President paid a tribute to the club's 41 members at the front and said that he regretted to state that two. Major Levin and Lieutenant Baddoley, had already been killed. The club, in. spite of the war, was still in a satisfactory condition. Thanks were due to the new caretaker, Mr Schiavi, for the splendid condition in which he had kept the greens, and to Mrs Schiavi and her daughters for the efficient ;way in which they had handled the catering. At the conclusion of the presentation of prizes, cheers were given for Mr and Mrs Sim, Mrs Mellsop (ladies' secretary), and Mr L. A. Abraham (men's secretary). PRIZE LIST. Championship, H. L.
