n.z. poultry, pigeon and Canary Association.
A meeting of the Council of the North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association was held in the A. and P. Association's committee rooms on Wednesday evening. The/president (Mr J. Jarvis) presided, and the following" delegates were present:— Messrs W. J. Mawkes (New Plymouth Winter Show), C. F. Purton (Hawera Winter Show), W. Inkpen (Auckland Cage Bird Club), C. Robert (Huntley P. and D. Club), G .Allman (Whangarei P. and P. Society), A. R. Anderson (Ohakune A. and P. Association), W. Cullen (Waikato Winter Show), R. W. Munro (Dominion Specialist Club), R. D. Whyte (Manawatu Poultry Association), and J. H. Cooper, hon. secretary (Wairoa P. and D. Society). A letter from Whangarei Club re game bantam championships not being competed for was dealt with. The action of the sub-committee in reinstating Messrs W. B. McKcnzie and W. G. Waldon at the request of the South Island Association was endorsed. „ , A letter from the N.Z. Utility Poultry Club re adopting their utility poultry standard was held over for consideration till the next meeting. The action 01 me sub-committee in dealing with a complaint from Mr Fred King, of Auckland, was confirmed. The action of the president and secretary in granting licenses to the Poverty Bay and Hawkc's Bay A. and P. Associations, also the Eongotea District Horticultural and Produce Society, was approved. The secretary was instructed to write the president of the Auckland Poultry Association has been formed in Auckland.
A fresh set of rules aRd regulations to govern all shows affiliated to the North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary, Association, which had been prepared by the president and approved by the sub-committee, was submitted and approved by the Council, a copy of same* to be sent to each society and club strongly recommending their adoption. A class schedule for the use of all societies and clubs w T as also submitted by the president. This was approved, a copy to be sent to each society and club asking them to adopt same. The following were elected to the sub-committee:—Messrs J. Jarvis (president), R. D. Whytes( vice-presi-dent), P. Larcomb (treasurer), W. Cullen, and,J. H. Cooper (hon. secretary). A list of persons who exhibited at unaffiliated shows was submitted. It was decided to suspend all persons exhibiting at unaffiliated shows, the secretary to send a circular memo, to all persons known who have not already been so notified that they are suspended in accordance with the rules of this Association. Championships to the value of 22 guineas were passed for payment. Samples of championship certificates were forwarded by the secretary of the South Island Association, no final decision being arrived at pending a final reply from Wellington. Special mention was made of the splendid work done by the president in preparing the class schedule and set of rules to govern all shows. Mr R. D. Whyte thanked the Council for electing him as vice-president to the Association. A vote of thanks was passed to. the chairman , and the meeting terminated.
