"Oates" Gramophine Stores, 56 Main Street West, have full stocks or all the leading gramophones on hand. They also, stock all the latest records. Tenders are i? vited by F. de J. Clere and Son, registered architects, for the erection of a cottage at Waituna.

Twelve thousand yards of calicoes and longcloths bought cheaply by Messrs. Collinson and Cunninghame Ltd. are advertised to be sold as cheaply. See page 6.

Whalley and Co., of the Crown Studios, have an advertisement of interest to soldiers on final leave in to-day's isue. They also draw attention to the fact that they make a speciality of enlarged photographs from old copies.

Dustins Ltd., the Square and Main Street West, arc still taking orders for Christmas cakes, for posting to the soldiers in the trenches. These cakes tire made in three sizes and cost 9s, 12s, and 15s respectively, including tin and postage. Those who desire a cake sent off only need send the money and .address of the soldier and Dustins will do the rest.

Mr F. Smith, pork butcher, the Square, announces that ne nas sold his business to Mr A. J. Taylor, late of New Plymouth. Mr Taylor in asking for a continuance of the support accorded his predecessor, intimates that Mr G. Brown, who has been in charge of the small goods for some five years, will still continue to do the manufacturing and that Mr Smith will have charge of the business for some time to come.
