By Electrie Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, Oct. 11. Wheat is rather firmer on the improvement in American but the demand is slow. Holders ask 42s 6d. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1985 bushels; Continent 1765; Atlantic shipments 838; Pacific 65; total for Europe 1155; India 91; and sundries 14. Hemp is dull and unchanged. MARKET REPORT. Harry Palmer and Co. report that at their regular Saturday mart sale very good entries were received, and all lines were keenly sought after. Pigs and poultry were particularly in keen demand, and buyers who were present, some from outside districts, were not nearly satisfied. Quotations: —Pigs: Porkers £1 15s 6d to £1 17s 6d, choppers £3 Is, stores 18s to £1 7s, iSlips 17s to £1 3s, weaners 13s 6d to 17s 6d. Poultry: Roosters 4s 6d to 7s per pair, hens 4s 3d to 5s 6d per pair, ducks 4s 3d to 5s 2d per pair, turkey gobblers 10s 9d to 13s each, turkey hens 7s 6d each, hens and chicks 6s 3d, hen and ducklings 7s 9d, ducklings Is 5d per pair, chickens Is per pair. Traps: Light spring cart, £l4 10s, dray £4 ss. Harness: saddles £3 10s. Produce: Potatoes table 7s to 8s per sack, seed 4s to 7s per sack, pig 2s 6d per sack, cabbage 4s per sack; onions 9s to 12s per cwt, carrots 4s 6d to 5s per sack; swedes 4s per sack, parsnips 5s 6d per sack, rhubarb 5s to 6s per dozen (from Hastings) and 4s per dozen (from local). Fish from 9d to Is 3d bundle. Furniture: Several lots were sold at satisfactory prices. Bicycles: The demand was not too good, but several were sold at cheap rates.
