PROTECTING WESTPORT COAL. WESTPORT, Aug. 12. The Marine Department has -wired that harbour lights at Westport are to be extinguished from to-morrow night until further notice, and also the lights at Cape Foulwind. Vessels will not be allowed to enter port during the night, but may leave at their own risk. The chairman of the Harbour Board is being bombarded with protests against the decision of the Department as being likely to have a detrimental effect on the trade of the port.
