Received 5.5 p.m. LONDON, May 22. In the semi-final Wilding and Brookes beat Ivingscote and G. Thomas. 6—l, S —6Mavrogordato was in fine form, and his early advantage was due to continually playing Brookes's backhand in the corner. Later he became slower. Brookes wore him down. Brookes requires a lot more practice on the grass before he recovers championship form. His service yesterday was poor, making many first faults a few inches beyond the line. He was only in his best form in the third set. Received 12.5 a.m. LONDON, May 21. Brookes beat Lowe 6—l, 6—.1, 5 7. ;j —S. 6 —3. The match occupied t.vo hours.
