THE COUNCIL AND TRAMS.

To the Editor. Sir, —It was an insult to Mr Nathan, who has the brains of the town with him, for the Council to rapidly rush through the appeal to the ratepayers on the question of trams when they had before them his notice of motion, knowing ill-health prevented his attendance. The only two courteous men on the Council appeared to be the Mayor and Mr Armstrong. matter is not so urgent that another fortnight's delay would have caused any great harm.—Yours, etc., ROBT. GARDNER. Terrace End, March 26.
