HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of t> e High School Boar i was held last evening, Mr W. H. Collingwood presiding. TECHNICAL SCHOOL. The director of the Technical School reuorte j that t e entries for t- e third term were much t>.e same. The entries for the competitions totalled 195, being 50 in advance of last year. It would therefore be necessary to take some of the events in the morning during competition week. Competitors were c ining from Hastings, Pahiatua. Masterton, Wellington, Mauakau, Otaki, Levin, Tokomaru, FeildinF, and Wanganui. The shearing classes would commence on October 7 and arrangements in connection witu tie fitting up of the machines were well in hand.

RECTOR'S REPORT. The roll at the end of the term stood—Boys 144 and girls 74. Tne ground committee reported gymnasium had been removed as authorise». A vote of thanks was passe ' to Mr Bennett for work done in connection with same. Mr Barnicoat was instructed to make necessary enquiries wit'> a view of having ti.»e football grounls drain-ploug ed. Miss Ironside, lsdy assistant High School, was granted a fortnight's leave of absence Mr Barnicoat to see to preparing a square c ain of the cricket field in readiuess for coming season.
