THE TARANAKI TUSSLE. MINISTER EXPLAINS. <Pre»* Association.—By Telegrttpa. ■ Wellington, March 20. Regarding the case of the girl mentioned in the proceedings of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, the Hon. H. D. Bell, Acting-Minister for Education, informed a Post reporter that proceedings had been taken according to the ordinary and regular course.

The child, he said, is not with her relatives or friends, but is boarded out with strangers by the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. It is believed, lie added, that the child should be removed from her present surroundings and taken charge of by a Government institution. He had complete confidence in his responsible officers.
