PHYSICAL TRAINING.
On Tuesday evening the Manavvatu Physical Training School held its annual meeting in the Technical School, when about fifteen members were present. Capt. Robinson occupied the chair. In regard to a query as to whether the school was to be continued, Mr Paltridge moved, That the Manawatu Physical Training School cease to exist as a school, and that it be a recommendation to Mr Allen (the instructor) that he carry on in his private capacity, and that members present agree to support him. This was seconded, by Messrs Perrin and Nelson, and carried unanimously. It was pointed out that the late school possessed a considerable aWiunt of material, and Mr Paltridge moved, and Mr Nelson seconded, That all the appliances of the school be handed over to the instructor, Mr Allen. This was put to the meeting, and after some discussion carried. Some of those present mentioned that as the meeting was advertised last year's members had nad ample opportunity of attending the meeting and voicing their opinions as to the disposal of the property of the school. Not having done so it could be taken as evidence of their want of interest, and they should therefore forfeit all right to the school property. Mr Allen intends to recommence on April 14 with classes for ladies and gentlemen, and if sufficient inducement offers, for juveniles.
