TRAMWAY POLL.
TO-DAY'S VOTING., THE BOOTHS. AND THE BALLOT PAPER. At nine o'clock this morning polling for the tramway proposal will "begin; and the polling booths will be closed again at seven o'clock tonight. The persons entitled to vote are ratepayers and their wives. The polling booths are at Opera House. Fire Brigade Station Terrace End. Orange Hall, Lombard Street. VOTING DIRECTIONS. If the voter desires to vote for the proposal he must mark a cross (X) in the square at the end of the line : "For the above proposal" on the voting paper. If he desires to vote against the proposal he must mark a cross (X) in the square at the end of the line: 44 Against the above proposal." POLL ORGANISATIONS. All persons who are opposed to the tramway system are called together to-day at the Opera House at 8.30 a.m. A notice is inserted on page 1 of this issue by those in favour of the trams calling upon ratepayers who foresee in the institution of electric trams the betterment of the town, to turn up to-day at the polling booths -and record their votes.
