SOMETHING IN A NAME. (Press Association.—By Telegraph. Auckland, Last Night. At the Waitemata Swimming Club's carnival this evening M. E. Champion won his heat in the 100 yards event in 61 4-5 seconds, breaking the N. Z. record of 63 2-5 seconds, held by Bruce. Champion swam second in the final in the same time. The race was timed by four competent men, and all their watches agreed.
