CONCILIATION.
FURNITURE TRADE DISPUTE. Mr P, Hally, Commissioner ot Oonoiliation, held a sitting of the Conciliation Council at the CourtHonee yesterday, there being with him representatives of' the employers, Messrs A. J, Bishop (Wellington) and $. Evens (Fuilcim?), W. Pegden (Palmerston), and W. .Mc- „ Kenzie, secretary Manawatu Employers' Association; representatives v of the Wellington B'nmitore Employers' Union, Messrs D. Moriarty, j. Ferguson, IJ. R. Kenoedy, and A.. H. Cooper. The demands ol the Union were taken seriatim, and ' finally an agreement was come to. The ewDloyers agreed to the lionrs. being 44 per week 'ou the Union agieeing to allow one apprentice to any three or fraction of three 1 ionrneymeD. Wages were fixed at Is per hour, these for apprentices being Bs, 12s, 15s, 21s and 28s--6d per week. Overtime not to start till the 44 horns per week had been worked. The other olanses were agreed to with slight alterations, theprefarenoe clause being practically the same as that nsally granted by the Arbitration Oonrt.
