The weather promises well for the opening of the Trentham rifle meeting, There are in camp 45 ofiloers, 300 non-oommissioned officers, and 181 members of rifle clubs. This is tlie largest meeting in the history of the Association.
At New Plymouth'yesterday a farmer named John Wilkinson was fined £5 and oosts £5 5s 6d, for feeding the milk of a cow suffering from cancer to oalves.
