CRICKET- AND CRICKET TREATMENT. To the Editor Manawatu Daily Times. Sir,—ln your report of cricket match we played yesterday you report it as we played U.F.C.A. As a matter of fact we were playing what is known as a Wednesday Cricket Association team, and letter enclosed from the secretary to myself will bear that out. When I noticed that Messrs Bartlett, Goldspring, and Jounneaux were playing, I asked the secretary of the Wednesday Association, Mr Butler, whom we were playing, as these three Saturday men were playing, and he informed me that we were playing a Wednesday rep. team only, and three Saturday players were put in to strengthen it. This we made no objection to as long as we got a good game, but to come and tell ua at the finish it was a U.F.O.A. team that played us, and tfc report it as such, was not right. We understand from a cricketer that only four U.F.O.A. men were playing. I notice also that -your paper reported the treatment Palmerston tennis players received at Otaki last Saturday. Well, the treatment we received yesterday at the hands of the Wednesday Cricket Assooiation is unequalled in my oricbet career of over 15 years. I wrote and informed Mr Butler, secretary where we were going to stay, and when we arrived in Palmerston there waa no one to meet us. We paid all our expenses at the hotel, and our own coach fares to and from the ground. We played to suit the local men by starting late, and when we got to the ground at 1 p.m. no one was there. We got a start at 2 p.m. Mr Bartlett informs me that had he known it was a U.F.C.A. team he would not have played. Messrs Bartlett and Astell came round to our hotel and assisted us to spend a good evening after the day's play, and in tliem we found two good sports. When the Wednesday Association comes to visit us, you can depend we will give them a good time, and we trust that when they go back they will say '' what a fine lot of fellows we met at Otaki."—Tours et °' ' A.
