A meeting of the Manawatu Cricket Association was held last evening. There were present—Messrs Ongley (in the chair), B. and T. Eyre, W. H. Bartlett, F. Wells, 0. H. Warden, A. Fox and T. Erickson. The Sandon Club decided to withdraw its application for affiliatiou. A letter from the Wanganui C.C requested a revival of the home-and-home (either rep. or club) mtches. It was decided that a team would meet the club on the Ist or 2nd of January next and that a rep. Manawatu team would visit Wanganui on January 22nd. It was resolved that the match Feilding v. Federals not yet finished, be played at some future date if necessary. The drawings for the senior matches are as follows:—7th and 14th December, Old Boys v. Federals, United v. Feilding; 21st December and 2nd January, Old Boys v. Feilding and Federals v. United. The entries for the junior club matches are Old Boys, Feilding, Terrace End and High School (probably two teams). The junior fixtures are. to be one day matches and if not completed to be decided on the first innings. The drawings for the junior matches are:—Terrace End v. Old Boys; High School A v. Folding. High School is to be asked to froward the names of their A aud B teams before Saturday next. The association rules are to be printed by Watson and Eyre.
Members of the association last evening spoke in very complimentary terms of the wickets prepared by the caretaker, Mr Brough, for last Saturday's games. The following team will represent the Drapers in the match against U. F. C. A. tli is afternoon :—Messrs Grouciier, captain, Wag3taff, Stebbing, Roe, Tait, Cuthbertson, Durward, Moore, Gittings, A. McPherson. The U. F.C.A. team will be picked from the following:—AsteU, Filleue, Russel, Meatyard, Sinclair, Donald, McDowell, Shortt, Butler, Gascoighe, Schemeld, Davidson, and Dearl.
The team to represent Terrace End against Albions to-day will be chosen from the following:—Eyre, Henderson, Cornfoot, McLeavey, Kaye, Turner, Hall, Mansford, Preston, Richards, Johansen, Tucker.
