The Archbishop of Tvtam declaring that cattle driving is illegal and immoral as a means of political agitation, the people of the archdiocese desisted and yielded in accordance witli his wishes to the police. The latter in most cases were then withdrawn. Mr Justice Wright, at Dublin, sentenced five cattle drivers, convicted last week to four months' imprisonment. The jury at Dublin yesterday dis agreed in the case against 26 Galway men charged with cattle driving, despite Mr Justice Wright's emphasising the admission of driving the whole day, and the remarks of the Attorney-General, Mr Cherry, that no honest man could doubt driving to be a criminal offence.
