Wool, Skin, and Hides,
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—Wβ held our usual sale at Palmerston on Friday of wool, skins and hides. We had a very large catalogue to subimt, β-ad prices throughout ruled in sellers' favour, considering the downward tendency of the London markets. Wool: We offered a good representative catlogue under this heading, both bale aiid bag lots, the bulk of which were crutchings. Quotations: Medium emtehings 5%d to 6%d, good 6d, bag lots fleece 7%d to Bd, dead wool Skins): We offered 800 skins of first class quality. Competition was keen, and all lots were cleared at satisfactory figures. Three-quarter woolled skins to 7%d, woolly skins 8d to B)£d, woolly green skins 6s lid to 7s 2d, % woolled 5s 7d to 6s 6d, inferior 5d to 7d. Hides: The catalogue comprised 286, which, considering the late decided drop in the Australian market, realised full values. Cow, medium, 4 l-3d, heavy 4 5-6 d, ox 4%d to sd, calf 6d to §%. Sundries: Talow (in tins) 22s per cwt, bones 3s Id per cwt.
