Fixtures
The Rugby Union Executive decided last night that in future members of the Referees' Association be provided with badges denoting their office. Messrs Warden, Foote and Liggins were appointed a sub-committee to arrange a school football contest. An application was received from the Feilding High School for the right to be allowed to contest the third-class championship. When the players names were read out it was considered the team should enter for the junior competition and1 a reply will be sent to that effect. In future all players must take the neld in club colours. This rule it was decided to rigidly enforce. Senior Fixtures. The following fixtures were drawn:— April 28: Institute v. Awahuri at Awahuri (referee, Mr Nash),Ealmer ß ton v. Old Boys at Palmerston (Rev. C. C. Harper). April 30: Institute v. Old Boys at I Palmerston, Awahuri v. Palmerston at Palmerston. May 7: Institute v. Palmerston at Palmerston, Awahuri v. Old Boys at Palmers ton. May 14: Institute v. Awahuri at Palmerston, Palmerston v. Old Boys. May 21: Old Boys v. Awahuri at Awahuri, Palmerston v. Institute. May 28: Palmerston v. Awahuri at Palmerston, Old Boys v. Institute. June 4: Palmerston v. Old Boys Institute v. Awahuri at Palmerston. ' June 11: Palmerston v. Institute, Awahuri v. Old Boys at Palmerston N. June 18: Palmerston v. Awahuri at Awahuri, In3titrte v. Old Boys. Second Class. April 23: Feilding v. Oroua Bridge at Feilding. (referee, Mr W. McLean). Institute v. Kai Toa (Mr Bunting), Awahuri v. Rongotea at Rongotea (Mr Elliot), Huia v. Palmerston (Mr Robinson), Tokomaru v. Iwuroa at Loncburn (Mr Powell). Third Class. April 23: H.S 0.8. v. Kai Toas (Mr Skelley), High School v. Huia (Mi Lyall). Football verily will boom this year. Patrons will get good value for their sixpence, for every baturday no less than nine matches will be played In the junior competitions half a score of teams have entered.
A meeting of the Institute Football Uub (juniors) was held last night, Mr J. H. Eichards presiding. Mr Hector Cox was elected field captain, and Mr Otto Simpson junior club captain. The ■election committee will consist of the two captains and J. H. Eichard*. The following will represent the team in their match on Saturday :—Stevens, Hotter, Cox, Millar, Murray, Brown, Eyre, Henderson, Simpson (2), Greathead, Hediy, Dilke, Bond, Douglas. Players are expected to assemble at 2.30 in club colours.
Socker players will hold a practice on the Sports Ground, Pitzherbertstreet, at 8 p.m. to-day.
