The Staffs Committee's report was to have come before the Borough Council last night. It was not reached when •» °ouncil adjourned, however, and will therefore bo brought forward at the meeting on Saturday. The report reads as follows:— 1 «r«lTba A JJWT* tOWn Cl6rk be re" tired, and that he be paid a l ump sum of £400; that Mr Collingwood be appointed acting town clerk for one year at a salary of £300 per annum, and that an assistant clerk be appointed at a salary of £150, applications to be called m the local papers and one in "Wellington; that pending further action the following recommendations be made :— That an addition be made in brick to the present Council Chambers to provide lavatory accommodation, and that the present lavatory (?) be transformed into an engineer's room. A report was received from the engineer, and it was referred to him for further information."
