Interesting News Notes.
(Own Correspondent.) Feilding, Yesterday. The Apiti section of the Feilding Mounted Rifles have had a most successful camp, with an average of twenty men, under the supervision of staff Sergt.-Major Dodd. The corps went through their class-firing to-day, and will strike camp to-morrow. The j deviation lately made at Haythorne's cutting on Kimbolton road is now open for horses and cattle, Metalling operations will be completed shortly and the road will then bo open for wheel traffic, and will afford great facility to the public, as two steep grades will be done away with. The Cheltenham Dairy Company hold their annual meeting to-morrow. Judging from the .tone of the shareholders who met at Cheltenham Hotel on Saturday evening the meeting wtt. be of a most interesting character. Last evening pedestrians returning home lifttioeu several oows and horseß Winning at large through the main streets. It is high time that stringent means were taken to mitigate this nuisance. Iv view of the fact that the Health officers are about to strictly enforce the dairy regulations in this district, I may state that a dairy farrqei* oi considerable experience dqea, -pot at all favour the use of. bricks for flooring cowsheds. He ; advises farmers to use concrete, as bricks will absorb milk and other liquids and also, retain contagious dj^ases,
