French Jockey Killed.
Press Association —Copyright. Paris, Yesterday. W. Wright, the leading steeplechase jockey in Franco, was killed by accident at the Santouren races.
Alterations made to the AshhurstPohangina Racing Club's Summer programme are as follow ;—The Stewards' Handicap will be called the Stewards' Stakes, a weight for age race of lOOsovs ; tho distance of the Pohangina Handicap has been increased from a mile to a mile and a distance; and the 1905 Guineas will be rnn over a mile instead of seven furlongs. The programme in its entirety will include the following prize money : —Trial Hurdles, lOOsovs; Flying Handicap, 105sovs; Ashhurst Guineas, 100 guineas; Manawatu Gorge Handicap, 125sovs; Stewards' Stakes, lOOsovs; Komako Welter Handicap, lOOsovs ; Pohangina Handicap, 120sovs; Farewell. Scurry, lOOsovs.. Mr W. H. Hartgill has been elected judge; Mr J. E. Henrys, handicapper; and Mr T. Cameron, starter. Several loose boxes and stalls are to be erected on the ground by Messrs Rimmer and Craven.
