Harry Palmer.
Harry Palmer reports on last Saturday's sale: —Our usual market was well attended. There was a fair entry of pigs, but the prices were erratic. A prime line of baconers realised 31s 6d, a splendid pen of weaners (six weeks old) 17s, and some good stores were sold cheap at 18s to 19a. Other lines of slips 20s 255. Fowls were present in good numbers and prices are still high. Good killing cockerek njad ducks are wanted badly. We quote—ducks ss, 6s 6d, 6s ; young hens 3s 6d to 5s 6d ; other sorts 2s 6d to 3s 3d; half-grown cockerels 2s 6d to,3s 6d. A few well " bred-uns " from 4s to 7s 6d. There is little or no change' to report in premises, and very few big lines have changed hands. During the week we held a clearing sale on account of Mr Cottle, and we also conducted a successful sale of bicycles on account of Mr Clarkson at Feilding. Two valuable town properties also changed hands, through our agency, at vendors prices. . . _ .
