The Team Returning.
Wallace's Jaw Broken.
Keceived August 20, 1.10 a.m. Sydney, Last Night. The Mararoa sailed at 8.30 p.m. for Auokland with the New Zealand football team, excepting Wallace and Stalker. The passengers received an enthusiastic send-off from a very largo gathering of Kugbians, including Union officials. New Zealanders, and the pubhe, and were loudly cheered. The presentation banner was strongly in evidence.
The detention of Wallace and Stalker is due to an accident to Wallace. Early in the second half" of the game he was bumped, but apparently the injury was serious. Ho took no notice and play.d on to the finish. It was not till after play ceased that it was discovered that hia left jaw was fractured The doctor set it, but as Wallace is a poor sailor it was decided he should rest for a few days before returning homo. At the request of the team Stalker remained behind to look after Wallace, who makes light of the injury.
