Owing to the sensational gallop made by Advance at the Hutt ou Tuesday morning, the Poriraa crack has become a strong favourite for the Wellington Cup. Hinetaura and Motor are said to be in excellent condition, aud Advance will have to expend himself to win. The annual meeting of iho Poxton liicing Club is always an cr.j )y----able fixture, and judging by the excellent acceptances, the forward state of ihe arrangements and tho promise ot fine weather the umet'ir.g which commences to-day should prove as successful as any which have prectdtd it.
